The Phacopidae are often common, exhibit spectacular shizochroal eyes, and are notoriously difficult to identify.

Gerastos tuberculatus marocensis

Subfamily Proetinae


These rather inconspicuous trilobites are locally so common that diggers refer to them as 'izzi' (flies). Their common occurrence however, makes these trilobites invaluable for scientific research.
