Hollardops of Morocco
Order Phacopida
Family Acastidae
Genus Hollardops Morzadec, 1997
Hollardops is one of the most emblematic genera of trilobites from Morocco, having been traded for decades. A recent study by van Viersen & Kloc (2022) discussed the functional morphology, palaeoecology and enrolment of Hollardops and also described several new species. Importantly, Hollardops hyfinkeli (Lieberman & Kloc, 1997) was reinstated as a distinct species after it had long been regarded as a junior synonym of Hollardops mesocristatus. The original concept of Hollardops burtandmimiae (Lieberman & Kloc, 1997) was reiterated because that species, like H. mesocristatus, had become a taxonomic waste bin.

Name: Hollardops cf. burtandmimiae (Lieberman & Kloc, 1997)
Stratigraphy: El Otfal Formation, upper Emsian
Locality: Jebel Ou Driss
This specimen demonstrates several similarities to Hollardops burtandmimiae such as the comparatively strongly medially deflected anterior border. The tubercles centrally on the glabella, however, are different and it is uncertain whether this is a variation of H. burtandmimiae.

Name: Hollardops cf. luscus van Viersen & Kloc, 2022
Stratigraphy: Timrhanrhart Formation, upper Emsian
Locality: Zguilma
Specimens from the Zguilma locality were assigned to Hollardops mesocristatus in the past but that species only occurs with certainty in Algeria.
