Name: Cyphaspis ceratophthalmus (Goldfuss, 1843)
Stratigraphy: Ahrdorf Formation, middle Eifelian
Locality: Gees, Germany

Cyphaspis ceratophthalmus (previously designated Otarion ceratophthalmum) is the type species of Cyphaspis. It was a common trilobite at the famous Trilobitenfelder locality in Gees (Gerolstein, Eifel) until that was closed in the 1980s. In the photo is the neotype selected by van Viersen & Holland (2016, Geologica Belgica).
